The Landings Club – Magnolia Course [Golf Course Review]

The Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay designed Magnolia Course at The Landings Golf and Athletic Club

Of the six golf courses here at The Landings Golf and Athletic Club, the Magnolia Course, is the only layout that plays through the interior of the island.

The Magnolia is the only golf course that at The Landings that doesn’t provide a view of the water here at The Landings.

Originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, The Magnolia Course at The Landings opened for play in 1977. In 2021, the Palmer Design was brought in to update the layout.

The work on the golf course included updating the putting surfaces, greenside, and fairway bunkers.

The Magnolia Course here at The Landings offers seven sets of tees. From the back championship tees, this layout stretches out to 6,895 and offers a course rating of 74.8 and a slope of 141.

If you move up the Club Tees, the average handicapped player will find more than enough challenge at 6,174 yards.

One of the keys to scoring on the Magnolia Course is to find the fairway off the tee. This will allow you to be able to put the right club in your hands for your approach shot coming in.

The greens on the Magnolia Course at The Landings offer plenty of undulation, so having a good flat stick goes a long way to help you score on this golf course.
