The Preserve Golf Club

The Preserve Golf Club

Back in 2005, former U.S. Open winner turned golf course designer Jerry Pate was called upon to create an 18-hole championship-style layout that would rival anything along the Gulf Coast.

The end result was The Preserve Golf Club, a very unique and challenging golf course that encompasses 245 pristine acres surrounded by an additional 1800 acres of dedicated nature.

The Preserve Golf Club is a special piece of property located within the Fort Bayou Creek Drainage Basin.

A lot of botanists actually say that there’s more biodiversity in a square yard here than there is in most places in the northern hemisphere.

Another reason for golfing enthusiasts to tee it up here at The Preserve Golf Club is its playing conditions. From your 1st tee on through your final putt at #18 you’ll find tournament-ready conditions throughout the year.

The course here at the Preserve Golf Club reserve is a shot maker’s course and offers five sets of tees. This is the perfect layout for the professional on down to the higher handicap player from the back black tees.

From the first tee on through the ninth green course designer Pate routes this layout through stands of tall pines and hardwoods, giving it a parkland feel.

On the front side, there are several outstanding holes, including the medium-length par 4 third.

Then as we make the turn at number ten, this layout begins to take on a link-style feel to it.

On the back side, number 11 is another fairly short par four, where once again the premium is placed on accuracy off the tee. Anything right of center of the fairway gives you the best angle into the green. It also takes a bunker in the front of the green out of play as well.

And it’s all set within a backdrop that only Mother Nature could provide.
