The East Course at Hunters Run Country Club
Back in 1979, the design team of Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin were called upon to create the first of three golf courses here at Hunters Run Country Club.
And when the East Course opened, it did so to rave reviews.
Then in 2007, golf course architect Kit Shuttles was brought in to redesign the East Course here at Hunters Run Country Club.
Is the East Course your typical Florida golf course?
Well, in some respects, yes.
With water coming into play on 17 of the 18 holes out here.
The earth that was removed to create the lakes and ponds was then used to create the mounding on the fairways and elevated tees.
The East Course at Hunters Run Country Club may not be the longest golf course you put a tee in the ground at. Still, it’s a shot makers golf course that will challenge you each and every day.
If plan on scoring out here on the East Course at Hunters Run Country Club, it really has to happen with your entire golf game working that day.
While all four of the par 5’s here on the East Course are reachable for those who can get some distance off the tee, keep in mind the wind plays a factor throughout this layout.
Your average golf course will have four par threes on it. Here on the East Golf at Hunters Run Country Club this layout has five.
According to Director of Golf John Oyler; “the par threes are not necessarily the holes where you’re going to make up a lot of ground because of their length and a lot of water”.
The par four is out here on the East Course at Hunters Run Country Club vary in length from 328 up to 426 and offer a challenge to each and every skill set. Rewarding those golfers who can put forth their A-game from tee to green.
